Pixlumo.

Live data. On your screen

Python / Typescript / Express / React Native

It all started from a tiktok lol

Saw this led flight display on my fyp that shows whats flying over your house and i wanted one so bad. They only shipped to the us and it was like $200 so i just built my own instead

Got an esp32 for £8 and a led matrix off aliexpress for £20 forked someones repo wrote the firmware in c and the server logic in typescript. Used opensky at first then switched to fr24 for better data

First iteration

Once it was working i started making it actually look good. Logos layouts different info bits. But the esp32 was crashing too much trying to poll the api AND render everything so i moved all the rendering to servers and made the display a thin client

First cad
First cad

Decided to turn it into a proper product for the eu market. Designed a case in cad built to be 3d printed switched to a more powerful chip and made 54 modules from the first run. Did a preorder to test demand and it went well

Built a react native app for pairing and setup so you dont have to touch any config files. Launched the storefront and the app and now theres 500+ modules across different categories for users to pick from
